Daniel Bongiorno

Daniel is a postgraduate student with the Australian Centre for Field Robotics at the University of Sydney. Daniel's research is examining the use of spectral imaging in underwater environments to understand and characterize the ocean's water properties from on board an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. Collection of this information will assist in creating accurate and consistent photographic maps of the seabed. Daniel has previously worked designing electronics for underwater and harsh environments.    

Daniel graduated from the Australian National University (ANU) in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics/Electronics). His honours thesis was looking at the "Early Detection of Glycoalkaloids in Potatoes using Hyperspectral Cameras".
