Hercules' Force-Feedback Manipulator Arm
Hercules has two arms, one on each side, to assist with sampling. This one is the force-feedback manipulator arm on the starboard (right) side. It is used as the arm that operates the tools (i.e. push core sample bottles, temperature probe) as well as collecting samples off the sea bottom (i.e. rocks, tubeworms). It is operated and controlled by the ROV pilot.
