Lisa Lyle Wu currently teaches marine biology and is the lab director for the oceanography and geophysical systems lab at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia.  As a freelance science writer she has developed curricular materials for Discovery Channel, the Washington Post and worked on exhibit development for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History.  She was a volunteer diver at the National Aquarium in Baltimore for ten years and served as Teacher at Sea for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  She has led expeditions of students to study in, on, or under the sea surrounding the Bahamas, Florida Keys, Bermuda, and Galapagos Islands.

Lisa received a  B.S in Biology from Mary Washington College and Master's degree from the University of Virginia in Educational Psychology with a specialty in working with gifted students.  She has continued her graduate work with specal studies in oceanography.
