Previously, Ian has worked as an embedded developer with the MicroModem group at Woods Hole Oceangraphic Institution on building a new platform for acoustics communication research.
Ian was first exposed to underwater robotics while an active member of Cornell's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle team, which competes every year in a student competition open to any university or high school team.
Ian graduated in 2008 from Cornell University with a BS in Computer Science, and just finished an MS in Ocean Engineering at the University of Rhode Island this past May.
