Carter is pursuing an MS in oceanography at University of Delaware focusing on sediment processes around artificial reefs.  He has participated in multiple autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) projects with the University of Delaware, including experimental technology research.  Additionally, Carter has taken part in two archaeological expeditions in Bermuda, in which he has mapped an partially excavated a historic wreck.  Carter has also worked at the University of Hawaii as a survey designer and data processor for a seafloor-mapping project searching for disposed military materials off Oahu.  

Carter graduated from St. Mary's College of California in 2010 with a degree in archaeology.  Hie is currently working towards a MS in Oceanography at the University of Delaware.
