Brennan Phillips is the Operations Manager for the Institute for Exploration and is responsible for the ROV and sidescan systems onboard the E/V Nautilus.
Brennan started working with Dr. Ballard in 2004 as an undergraduate engineering assistant. He has also worked at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution operating deepwater survey AUV’s. Brennan has participated in over two dozen research expeditions in locations all over the globe including the North Atlantic, Central Pacific, Arctic Ocean, Southern Ocean, and the Mediterranean and Black Seas.
Brennan earned his BS in Ocean Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in 2004 and his MS in Biological Oceanography from the University of Connecticut in 2006.
